Good morning! My weigh-in this morning showed another 1.2 lbs lost. That's a total of 6.6 lbs in 4 days. I'm thrilled, but to tell the truth, I am really facing a dilemma.
Here's my problem:
I've been doing a lot of research (hours and hours). So has my daughter who is investigating the HCG diets before she goes on one. We both have the same concerns involving the differences between a real HCG diet (
pharmaceutical grade HCG) and homeopathic HCG.
Apparently, the only way to get HCG is to produce it in the laboratory.
So how do they get homeopathic HCG? I've read repeatedly, that they add so little real HCG, that it is almost not present, then they can call it homeopathic.
The other ingredients in the homeopathic drops usually appear to be good for you. You still lose weight, in my opinion, mainly because of the extremely low calorie diet. It also teaches you to eat healthier and smaller portions.
My drops are homeopathic and came highly reccommended. I decided to test them using a pregnancy test. I've read that if the HCG hormone is at a sufficient level, if you drop it directly onto a pregnancy strip, it will turn positive. If you take a pregnancy test it should be negative, unless you are pregnant. But put the hormone drops directly onto the strip.
This is a picture of my HCG, my test kit, and the results.
My test came up negative for HCG hormones, testing by this method.
Why this bothers me:
My understanding is, the pharmaceutical HCG does two things for you.
- First it decreases your hunger.
- Second, it allows your body to burn fat instead of muscle, when on the extremely restricted, pure HCG diet.
Lastly, using an extremely low calorie diet will do harm to your metabolism if done without the aid of HCG. Your body will perceive itself as starving. HCG is know to help fix your metabolism, but doing the diet with homeopathic crops will probably do just the opposite and lower your metabolism.
If homeopathic HCG doesn't contain enough pharmaceutical HCG, then won't your body burn up both fat and muscle? More specifically, on this low a calorie diet, I am concerned about the effects on the heart muscle.
I want to start a discussion on this topic.
I am considering ordering some of the pharmaceutical drops. I can deal with the hunger, but I don't want to jeopardize mine or anyone else's health.
